Sing Ho! for the Life of a Sailor
Some say they are weary,
With nowhere to find rest.
Some say life is dreary,
Full of fears at best.
But a sailor says the morning
Was made for setting sail,
And a salt will read a warning
In the skies of a coming gale.
So Ho! for the life of a sailor,
A life without a fault.
Let others have their jailer,
Sing Ho! for the life of a salt.
The seven seas are deep and wide
And colder than the grave,
But sailing ships know how to glide
Along each passing wave.
A man wants more than anything
To live a life that's free;
To dance & drink & laugh & sing--
That's why he goes to sea.
So Ho! for the life of a sailor,
A life without a fault.
Let others have their jailer,
Sing Ho! for the life of a salt.
