Minou et Hibou
Remember, my Minou, there was a time
Before we met, as doubtful as it sounds;
And though we were considered in our prime,
I was a fleeing fox before the hounds.
No mystery was ever made more clear
Than what the two of us were meant to share.
We very shortly were revealed no mere
Event, but something timeless, true, and fair.
The future is uncertain--were it not,
Our lives would be a game already played.
No chance of that in this uncharted land
Where winds blow sudden cold, then burning hot
And giant trees were once a single blade.
With you, this life has been, and will be, grand.
