Order Ulotrichales

Family Ulvaceae (Sea lettuce and sea felt)

Ulva taeniata (sea lettuce)

Ulva taeniata is commonly found on rocks at midtidal and lower intertidal areas. This green alga may be distinguished from other species of Ulva by its arrangement of simple or several long narrow blades that arise from the base of the plant which are densely ruffled and often spirally twisted. Ulva taeniata grows from 20 to 50 cm in height and ranges from 3 to 4 cm in length.

Enteromorpha intestinalis (yellow-green hairweed)

Forming bright green mats of convoluted or straight tubules, Enteromorpha intestinalis is found in the upper intertidal zone in pools of brackish water or freshwater seeps.
