Name:
Roberto Baggio |
Roberto Baggio is my very best favorite soccer player. He is the greatest player in the world. Having such a deep passion for soccer, he began to play in his early childhood. Baggio was soon recognized to be a young talent by the coaches of the professional soccer club. He soon joined Caldogno, Lanerossi and then Vicenza as a professional player and kept scoring important goals for his teams. Being persuaded by his excellent performance on the field, Baggio was bought by the bigger clubs, like Fiorentina, Juventus and then AC. Milan. His career bloomed in Fiorentina and Juventus. He helped the clubs won the Seria A Championship in the season of 1994/1995 and 1995/1996. At that time, Baggio was chosen to be in the Italian National Team for the FIFA World Cup in 1990 and 1994. Bad luck came to him when he failed to score the goal in the penalty kicks in the final game against Brazil, who later became the Champion that time. From that time on is the darkest days of Baggio. He was abandoned by every coach and usually had to sit on the substitute bench. However, he was asked to play whenever the team was about to lose and everytime he was asked to play in the game, he always played great, and brought victories to the team at the last minute. Like the 1998 World Cup, every time the Italian National Team was losing, they called for Baggio, and every single time he came into the field, he proved to everybody that he was a talented player by performing amazingly. However, Coach Ceasar Maldini still didn't trust him enough to let him play more. Italy lost to France. After that, Baggio was still abandoned at Seria A. So he decided to move to Brescia, a smaller football club so that he would have more chances to play soccer with the team. His decision was a smart one. He's really had moer chances to play in the field, and he has been playing great. It's he who took the team to a much higher place in the Chart.
