Just sold this. Picked this up for less than the guy had put into the motor alone. I wanted one of these since I was in high school (a long time ago).

This is the frivolous part of my Web. It provides pictures of the various cars that I currently own or have owned. It also provides pictures of cars that I definitely dream about whenever I can drag myself away from economics. 1969 Chrysler 300 convertible.Big, red, broken-down. How could I resist buying this on eBay for $1500? Well I couldn't. Flew down to pick up the car sight unseen. Eight hours, a distributor and carb. later I drove it from San Diego to the Cajon Pass. Where it blew up. At midnight. I highly recommend the Days Inn at the Cajon Pass. Next morning a friend drove down from the desert, reversed the wires on the choke, muttered that I was lucky I didn't really screw something up, and I drove it back. Sure it needed a top, interior, trunk, etc. but that's only money. What's that next to a dream? Just got back from putting in a new carpet, redoing the bucket seats, and putting in new door panels. With the new top its starting to look like a real car. Projects this fall include putting in a new back seat, headers and exhaust, and replace the dash and instrument panel. 1962 Plymouth Fury Stationwagon.Stationwagon's are cool. Remember that when they come back in style three years from now. This car is ugly enough to break a mother's heart. Original CA car with only surface rust where the paint was polished away over the years. Comes with pushbutton transmission and a 318 ci poly V8 - now with headers and a dual exhaust. Of course I burnt a valve and have to replace the heads but that just makes it easy to put on an aluminum manifold and replace the power steering with manual steering. Bench seat replaced by buckets. Project plans are to paint it eventually and finish the interior in the Spring.
1961 Maserati 3500GT.Approximately 2000 of these cars were built between 1957 and 1965. My car was built in 1959/60 and it's build number is 101.886. It is Italian red with a black leather interior. The 3500GT was Maserati's first regular production car. The body is by Touring of Milan using superleggera construction (aluminum body panels attached to a steel understructure). The engine is a 3.5 liter straight six with 3 Weber carbs. It is essentially a detuned version of the engine used by Juan Manuel Fangio to win the F1 World championship in the Maserati 250F race car. My car has a 5 speed transmission and disc brakes on the front only, marking it as an interim car. The car was originally sold in Arizona but came into the possession of a Canadian collector in the 1970's. The car is in good condition although its has a new leather interior, newly rebuilt wire wheels, and new chrome. I sold the car in August 2003 to an Austrian man who collects superleggera bodied cars. You can also check out many more pictures of the car by clicking here. Lamborghini 350GTOne last picture - the first supercar I ever lusted after and have not yet purchased. The first Lamborghini model made by the firm is the 350GT. Very few were produced (129? plus 23 interim 400GT models). It boasts a V12 with 5 speed transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes, and seating for two only. Consensus among collectors is that it is a weird-looking car but probably the best car of its time. In my opinion it is everything an exotic Italian supercar should be. No mistaking this car for a modified Toyota MR2! (Sorry Ferrari lovers!)

Cars that were, but are no longer |
![]() Perhaps the dumbest purchase I ever made (sight unseen of course). Nothing like watching this roll off a transporter to give one a sense of one's own stupidity. |

1967 Lancia Fulvia 1.2 HF. One of 500. Great car but it needed a total restoration. And where does one get parts? |
My ex-highway driver. This car began life in the same year as I did and was probably in better shape. Just traded this for a 1962 Plymouth Fury stationwagon.

The one that got away. Almost had this in a straight trade for the Maserati. We all have our regrets. Mine are mostly about cars. |

The one I never should have let get away. 1970 Fury III convertible with a 383 V8. Sold it to buy a Land Rover Discovery. Bad move!! |
