George Seidel, Jr. is Professor of Physiology and University Distinguished Professor at the Colorado State University. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from Cornell University in Physiology, Biochemistry and Physical Biology. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and has received numerous awards including the Governor's award for Science and Technology, Colorado (1986) and the Centennial Lectureship at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine (1994). His research has included work on reproductive manipulations in cattle and other agriculturally important animals, including horses. In addition to his research publications he has written many articles and reviews on various aspects of mammalian embryogenesis, fertilization and cloning, including several on aspects of human cloning.
