Jorge L. A. Garcia is Professor of Philosophy at Rutgers University. He has taught at Georgetown and Notre Dame Universities, served as Senior Research Scholar at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, and been both Fellow in Ethics at Harvard University and Visiting Fellow in Harvard Medical School's Division of Medical Ethics. He has written numerous articles in theoretical and practical ethics, including contributions to African-American Perspectives on Biomedical Ethics (Georgetown U. Press, 1992) and 'It Just Ain't Fair': the Ethics of Health Care for African-Americans (Praeger, 1994).
