GENERAL OBJECTIVES

 As a result of this course, the seminar participant will have a complete review and gain practice in the process and the methods in developing a dissertation proposal.

 SPECIFIC GOALS 

  • State a researchable problem in operational terminology.
  • Determine the components for the Review of the Literature and write an introduction to it.
  • Present an educational rationale and theoretical base for conducting the study.
  • Review common methods of instrumentation, sampling, and data collection used in educational research.
  • Review and describe the common methods of analysis used in educational research.
  • Apply knowledge of terms, concepts, methods, and process of educational research in writing a preliminary dissertation proposal and in critiques of other students' research proposals.
  • Apply research principles to other students' research topics and proposals.
  • Review and analyze dissertations (optional).
