Attendance Expectations

Educational and Psychological Measurement

Students are expected to arrive to class on time, prepared for class having read the assigned reading, and are responsible for all material presented. If it is necessary to miss a class, as a courtesy, please notify the instructor in advance or, if an emergency, notify the instructor as soon as possible. Establishing a partnership with a student in the class is advisable in order to acquire information missed because of an absence. [Note: Audiotaping of the class is permissible. I will be recording the classes using an iPod. The podcasts will be available after class under Course Documents on Blackboard.] All assignments are due on the designated dates. Late assignments will not be accepted. Videotapes are available from previous sessions. If you are absent or want to review the class, you may borrow the tape.

Assumptions

It is assumed that students have an understanding of college algebra and have familiarity with elementary statistics, that is, mean medianm standard deviation, z scores, T scores, percentage, contingency tables, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, point biserial correlation coefficient, and the normal distribution. For those lacking this familiarity or desiring a review, check with the instructor . There is a review of basic statistics provided in the Appendix of the Silverlake book and in Chapter 4 of the Popham book.
