The Rating System Ratings don't protect our children from exposure to movies that glorify and encourage negative behavior. Between 1933 to 1968, most films produced for theatrical release were the equivalent of a G-rating. Since 1968, over 60% of the movies Hollywood has produced for theatrical release have been rated R. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rating system does not guarantee that the content of a movie will be acceptable for family viewing. (Dove Family) |
