The U.S. Supreme Court repealed the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 in 1943. However, immigration laws did not change until 1965. After 1965, there was an increase in Chinese immigration to the United States. This second wave of Chinese immigrants faced similar challenges as the earlier immigrants such as the English language barriers.
