In the 1800s, the Qing Dynasty, the ruling government in China, faced many challenges. The country's massive land area made it difficult for the Chinese government to have strong control over the different provinces. China had been at war with Great Britain. Many of the Chinese people became increasingly discontent with the Qing government and organized several rebellions.

1. Create a timeline of events that occurred in China in the 1800s that led the Chinese to want to immigrate to the United States.
