Exploring Further: Touring
Other Sites
Now that you are familiar with the concepts and terms of Greek architecture, let's apply what you've learned. Below is a list of seven Greek monuments that are not found on the acropolis in Athens.
The Monuments:Temple of HeraTemple of Concordia (see also:Agrigento)
First, your team is to investigate each of these seven sites, digging out the following information and recording to your notebooks:
The name, date, and location of the monument. A brief history or description of the monument.
The style or order of architecture used in its construction.
The specific components remaining of the temple (i.e. cornice, colonnade, etc.).
The monument's closest analogue (comparison) to those temples or monuments in MacArchitecture (i.e. the Parthenon, the Basilica, etc.).
Second, your team is to organize a web-tour to these sites by creating a team web page with pictures of your monuments (you must cite their source) or with hyperlinks to their remote locations. Each picture or link should be accompanied by a short description of the monument.
Third, your team will orally present to the class your "tour" using the internet and your web page.
