Sponsored by the Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good
The Public Service Certificate Program is an interdisciplinary program for students in any major interested in acquiring some background and skills for public service. Students take three courses designated as McCarthy Courses (PDF, 35 KB) offered through numerous departments on campus. One of the three courses must be a designated service-learning course in addition to the service-learning course required in the USF core curriculum. Students also must meet with the Director of the McCarthy Center at least once to receive guidance on course selection. Students in the Certificate Program are referred to as "McCarthy Associates," will receive a certificate at graduation, and will be invited to special McCarthy Center events.
