CAB Team 2012-2013

                                      CAB EXECUTIVE BOARD 2012-2013:

      CAB team 12!

*While CAB is made up of an executive board of directors who play specific roles in each event, we rely on other students at USF to volunteer their time, ideas, creativity, and school pride in order to help us put on amazing events at USF: this makes up the CAB Street Team!*

If you are interested in joining CAB, email any one of the Executive Board members (emails listed below) and make sure to attend our bi-monthly meetings on Thursdays at 5:30!

Get to know the 8 Executive Board members and a little about their experiences at USF and working with CAB!

1) What are you most excited for next year?

I am most excited to see what all of the new CAB directors will do in their positions. Because we have so many new directors, we will have a lot of new ideas to explore, and I'm excited to see the benefits of all these new ideas!

 2) What has your favorite memory been at USF so far?

My favorite CAB related memory at USF was Fright Night. After working for so long to plan the event, I really enjoyed seeing all my hard work pay off. I had the opportunity to collaborate with different organizations on campus, and I loved being able to meet students through this event. Even during the most stressful time of planning, I knew that I had plenty of support from the other CAB directors and from the CAB advisers. Seeing this event come together was a truly rewarding experience.

3) Why is joining CAB a great way to get involved on campus?

If you join CAB, you will be involved in putting on some of the best events on campus! Being on the CAB Street Team will keep you up-to-date on all of CAB's upcoming events. We plan everything from talent shows to film screenings to carnivals.  Not only does CAB plan these incredible events, but we also work with other student organizations which makes it easy to get to know other involved students.

4) Advice to new students.

I want to encourage new students to spend their first few months at USF looking for different ways to get involved on campus. Keep up on academics of course, but look out for other non-academic opportunities that come your way. College should be about more than getting good grades. CAB has become a very important resource for me. We really do feel like a tight knit family, and I'm so grateful to get to work with students who have similar interests to mine.

1) What are you most excited for next year?

I'm really looking forward to all the music we're going to have on campus this year. Between student performers at late nights and our big name artist at the concert, it's going to be really fun.

2) What has your favorite memory been at USF so far?

My favorite USF memory would be getting to be backstage during the concert. The energy level was so high and getting to interact with the artist professionally was really exciting.

3) Why is joining CAB a great way to get involved on campus?

CAB is a great way to get involved because our events have the potential to impact everyone on campus and make our on campus community stronger. Plus it's super fun!

4) Advice to new students.

Don't be afraid to ask questions if you want to get involved and you don't know how. Remember that every student was a slightly intimidated freshman once!

1) What are you most excited for next year?

I’m most excited to start incorporating the new freshman class into campus life and school events! This year, CAB is doing BIG things, so I can’t wait to see the new students get excited for our events; especially, the Annual Concert with amazing performers right on campus! Don’t forget to like us on Facebook to stay up to date on the latest campus news and events!

2) What has your favorite memory been at USF so far?

My first year at USF was so amazing that it’s incredibly difficult for me to choose one specific memory as my favorite. However, I can clearly think of one memory where I, along with the other CAB members, were sitting on the second floor gym bleachers watching Mike Posner do his mic-check and practice his set list. It was amazing to watch and know that we were a handful of students who were given this opportunity. So make sure you join CAB if you want in on the coolest parts of USF events!

 3) Why is joining CAB a great way to get involved on campus?

Like I stated before, a USF student involved in CAB will have an abundance of insight into how campus events work. Not only are we responsible for fun on campus, CAB can definitely make on-campus living a great experience…especially for you incoming freshmen! Joining CAB will allow you to meet an incredible amount of people, whether they are in your class or not. Plus, why wouldn’t you want to be responsible for amazing events that make YOUR University one of the best?

 4) Advice to new students.

Do not, I repeat, do not sit in your dorm room all day wasting time on Facebook and Tumblr. Go out, meet people, make friends, and embrace the opportunities you have while attending USF. San Francisco is the ideal place to live while attending college, so don’t miss out on it! Join as many clubs and organizations as you want; you will definitely make long lasting friendships and memories, so go for it, don’t hold back!

 1) What are you most excited for next year?

I'm excited for the new CAB year! We have been working really hard on having few events that are well done and I think this year we will accomplish this task. It'll be hard, but we have a great hard-working e-board coming in! Let the fun days begin!

 2) What has your favorite memory been at USF so far?

My favorite memories of USF have been associated with CAB. CAB is all about planning events for the student body and as someone who is shy, these events help me in breaking out of my shell. CAB is exactly what I was looking for in a University setting and has helped me in creating lasting memories.

3) Why is joining CAB a great way to get involved on campus?

CAB is a great way to get to know people and to get involved! By joining CAB, you get to learn in detail about other organizations that we collaborate with and the advisors who run Student Leadership and Engagement.

4) Advice to new students.

Have Fun! And Join CAB!! Come create lasting memories!

1) What are you most excited for next year?

I'm definitely excited for the CAB Concert next spring! I can't wait to find out who will be performing at USF's own gym! Last year, I had a lot of fun, so of course, I want to go to this year's. (I obviously am excited for every single Late Nights, but as Late Nights Director, I didn't want to sound biased!)

2) What has your favorite memory been at USF so far?

During spring semester of my freshman year, my friends and I had a jam session in the middle of the night on the UC 4th floor and in the stairwell! The acoustics were awesome and we had no idea we had been playing and singing for five hours straight. It was so much fun. You'd be surprised by how much fun you can have on campus. Seriously, it's ridiculous.

3) Why is joining CAB a great way to get involved on campus?

Almost all of the really cool and fun events put on by students - in my maybe-biased opinion - are put on by CAB. We've got the Haunted House, Open Mics, Concerts, Carnivals, and Campus Movie Fest! I feel like CAB is at the center of the campus in terms of the activity (hence, Campus Activities Board). All students are welcome to all the events - and most importantly, they're pretty much all free! If you join CAB, you'll be able to help with some of the key events throughout the year, and you definitely won't regret joining CAB.

4) Advice to new students.

Get involved! See number 3 please.

1) What are you most excited for next year?

I'm most excited about getting to recruit and work with the raw talent that USF students have in regards to the Talent Show.

2) What has your favorite memory been at USF so far?

It's definitely not possible to have only one favorite memory but one of my favorites has to be becoming a member of Kappa Alpha Theta's Charter Class.

3) Why is joining CAB a great way to get involved on campus?

Everyone likes attending events.  They're fun and they are the easiest way to get involved, meet new people, and show your spirit and so I personally think that there isn't a better way to become involved while having an amazing time than to become a part of CAB.

4) Advice to new students.

Leave no opportunity untouched and no unopened door unopened.  Your four years of college go by wicked fast and you want to look back knowing that you've done everything in your power to have made it the best experience possible.

I am really excited to be a part of every event that CAB will be producing.

 2) What has your favorite memory been at USF so far?

My favorite memory at USF so far would be the Final Fiesta Carnival. It was such an exciting event to be apart of, and I really loved the bungee bull.

 3) Why is joining CAB a great way to get involved on campus?

Joining CAB is a great way to be involved on campus because you get to participate in planning the hottest events on campus! CAB allows you to meet students with a similar interest in event planning and being involved on campus.

 4) Advice to new students.

If you are a new student, join as many clubs as you can. GET INVOLVED. It makes your experience at USF so much more exciting.
