Top 20 Things Students Should Do Before They Graduate

Two students, Liz Lauer and Quincy Roth in Digital Media Production Fall 2010 asked the campus community for the things students should do before they graduate. These are their findings! If you want to contribute any other ideas for what students should do, please submit them here!

Walk/Bike Across the Golden Gate Bridge

It's gorgeous and famous. You gotta do it. Just remember a jacket, it tends to get chilly!

Go to the beach. (Baker, China, or Ocean Beach)

On those rare sunny and hot days in the city, take the bus to the beach! Bring some sunscreen and wear your bathing suit, bring a sweatshirt in case the fog rolls in!

BBQ in Golden Gate Park

Find the little barbeques in the park, and make some delish hamburgers and hotdogs!

Go to a Giants game

Friday nights are orange night, so sit in the bleachers and wear some orange. If you're hungry the garlic fries are AWESOME.

Eat a sandwich from Ike's Place

The line's always long but it's so worth the wait. Plus it gives you plenty of time to choose from the extensive menu!

Tan in Dolores Park

It's always sunny in Dolores Park, lay out with your friends.

Go to a free concert in Golden Gate Park

There's Power to the Peaceful, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, and Alice Radio's Now and Zen Fest.

Jump in the reflecting pool outside the Gleeson Library

You know when it get's really hot outside? Yea, go for a dip...or just stick your feet in! Note from Char: This is probably not a USF-sanctioned activity, so be careful if you wind up thinking about this activity!

Attend an event featuring one of your classmates or friends!

Maybe your friend is in a band, or plays soccer! Go watch!

Eat something from the USF FarmStand

It's yummy, and grown by students!

Experience LoveFest, Bay 2 Breakers or Pride Week!

Get dressed up and get out on the street

Twin Peaks on a nice day or night

Hop in the car and head up to Twin Peaks: the best view of the city

Go to a Farmer's Market (Ferry Building, Castro, or Fillmore)

Visit local farmers from around the Bay Area, free samples and enjoyable grocery shopping!

Eat a burrito in the Mission past midnight

They’re all open late, and let’s face it- food is so much better when it’s too late to eat

Attempt the 2010 Big Eat SF!

Visit Coit Tower early in the morning or right at sunset

One of the best views of the city, in the city. And a bonus workout if you take the stairs.

Trolley Car Ride to the wharf

Don’t forget to hit In-n-Out or grab a bread bowl of chowder

Spend an afternoon in City Lights Bookstore

Historic bookstore in North Beach- do your research! And then get an espresso next door

Castro Theatre

Check what’s playing, and head to historic Castro!

Visit the Observation Tower at the DeYoung Museum

Free entry, Ninth Floor (after your view, try sneaking into a gallery)
