The Office of Student Learning Assurance (OSLA) will serve the vital function of overall coordination for measurement and analysis of student learning and other Institutional evaluation projects at USF; work to inform integrated institutional planning; and develop strategic directions for institutional planning.

The OSLA reports directly to the Senior Vice Provost. In response to the strategic priorities set by the USF Leadership Team, WASC accreditation standards, and the needs of the schools, the OSLA directs evaluation activities within four main areas: institutional strategic goals, program/service quality and effectiveness, the student/alumni experience, and student learning. The OSLA takes responsibility for informing other divisions within the University of results and implications of various student learning projects.

In addition, the OSLA assists faculty, staff and administrators in planning, designing, implementing, analyzing and reporting University-wide and targeted student learning evaluation efforts. OSLA responsibilities include inter alia, planning, locating or developing tools to meet student learning evaluation needs; offering opportunities for faculty and staff to learn and share evaluation methodologies and results; assisting University offices and its leadership in ensuring that student learning evaluation results are used effectively for program improvement; and, producing periodic reports on the results of student learning. In addition to contributing to university-wide evaluation efforts, OSLA will support schools/colleges or programs/departments in their disciplinary accreditation and other department-based evaluation needs and interact with appropriate members of the University community.
