USF/UCSF Partnership for Undergraduate Mentoring and Teaching
The University of San Francisco/University of California San Francisco Partnership for Undergraduate Mentoring and Teaching (PUMT) program provides opportunities for USF science majors to gain research experience in laboratories led by UCSF graduate students and post-doctoral researchers/clinicians. The biology department provides financial support for student research and travel to scientific meetings. This support is made possible by the generous contributions of donors to the Biology Gift Fund. Learn more about grants-in-aid.

- Carol Chihara Awards are given every semester to eligible students, based primarily on their science GPA. Download the application.
- The Edward L. Kessel Award is given to a graduating biology major with proven academic excellence, demonstrated leadership and support within USF’s Department of Biology, and high potential for a career in the biological sciences. Download the application.
Scholarship applications are due Friday, March 21, 2015 by 4:30 in Harney Science Center 342 or the mailbox across the hall.
Your academic advisor, not an Academic Success Coach from the Center for Academic and Student Achievement, must release your academic before you can register for classes.
Access to Fletcher Jones Microscopy Center
