Writing for a Real World 2006-2007
A Multidisciplinary Anthology by USF Students

Editor David Ryan
Program in Rhetoric and Composition

Writing for a Real World is dedicated to providing a public forum for the finest student writing at the University of San Francisco. Created in partnership between the Dean of Arts and Sciences and the Program in Rhetoric and Composition, WRW publishes refereed student writing with commentary from students and their instructors.

Over the past four years, 64 undergraduate students representing 12 disciplines have had their essays published in WRW. Essays from courses in Communication Studies, Conservation Biology, English, Environmental Science, History, Media Studies, Philosophy, Physics, Politics, Psychology, Rhetoric and Composition and Sociology have won prizes.

As part of our annual celebration, the writers of these prize-winning essays attend a fall ceremony commemorating their achievements. Parents have come as far from Oregon, Hawaii, and the Phillipines to watch their children receive their honors.
