It is exciting to think of the possibilities available to you as a student in exercise and sport sciences. Perhaps you will rehabilitate athletes from career-threatening injuries. You may personally train individuals to achieve their optimum health.
Maybe you will teach children to value and enjoy participating in physical activity and sports. It's possible that you might conduct research to demonstrate the positive effect that exercise has on increasing the human lifespan. Or, you might lead a national campaign to promote regular physical activity for the population. All of the above and more are possible in the diverse field of exercise and sport science.
The second largest major in the Sciences at the University of San Francisco, the Exercise and Sport Science Department is involved in numerous student assisted research, teaching, and service projects that focus on "creative solutions to healthy living." Our faculty has received numerous grants from both federal and corporate sectors and has published widely and extensively. Very active in the local Bay Area community, we also travel the world presenting our findings at academic conferences, industry workshops, corporate retreats, and professional settings.
