Students pursuing a degree in Theology and Religious Studies
at the University of San Francisco position themselves to experience and
engage in the rich religious and cultural diversity of the city of San Francisco. These opportunities for first hand religious
experiences are complemented and augmented by our diverse faculty who are
experts in a wide range of religious traditions and have in-depth knowledge of
many of the world’s regions, including Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East,
and Latin America.

Both the Current Students and the Alumni from this Department are engaged in a wide range of activities exploring their varied interests around the world. Those majors and minors demonstrating academic excellence in the field of Theology and Religious Studies are given the opportunity to join Theta Alpha Kappa, the national honor society for their field.
