Everyone knows his face and smile, but who is
the Dalai Lama really? This Core course will draw upon substantial
research, media coverage, and first-hand encounters with the Dalai Lama to
illustrate Buddhism in general but also Tibetan Buddhism, China-Tibet
relations, the role of Hollywood to publicize Tibet, and core teachings of the
Dalai Lama.
