The study of physics incorporates a variety of other disciplines and fields.  The USF physics curriculum opens up multiple paths for subsequent development, including graduate studies in science (physics, astronomy, math, chemistry, biology, etc), engineering, medicine, law, and other fields.

Our major and minor curricula focuses on preparation within the physical sciences, as well as an astronomy minor for non-science majors.  USF Physics, additionally, provides the basis for students interested in a 3/2 physics & engineering dual undergraduate degree program, in conjunction with University of Southern California.

Our Department offers:

  • An exciting learning environment with courses covering most major areas of physics and astronomy.
  • Student research opportunities in the many fascinating programs advanced by our faculty.
  • An enriching and supportive community of students and faculty.
