In an era of increased globalization, digitization and collaboration, museums have evolved into important and vital sites for community engagement and public dialogue. The University of San Francisco offers a unique Master’s degree in Museum Studies where students prepare and train for leadership positions in artistic, cultural and heritage organizations that operate in a constantly changing social dynamic.

The San Francisco Experience

Museum Studies students enjoy the rich experiences available in San Francisco. Within walking distance to the museum complexes of Golden Gate Park – including the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences – University of San Francisco also lies near the museums and cultural institutions in downtown San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Palo Alto and San Jose. The San Francisco Bay Area is a major financial, cultural and technological center and one of the world's most diverse, vibrant and beautiful regions.
