We believe that truly understanding a culture means being completely immersed in it. So we created a Spanish major and minor curriculum that emphasizes the Spanish community’s unique role in our society through challenging coursework, service learning opportunities and study abroad programs.
The Spanish major and minor at the University of San Francisco highlight historical, economic, social and religious contexts, cultural artifacts, peoples and places, and modes of analysis to deliver a rich academic and social experience. In addition to coursework, students have an opportunity to practice their conversational skills at the USF Spanish Conversation Table or join a variety of clubs whose missions emphasize culture, community engagement and learning through action. Graduates leave campus equipped with the knowledge, communication skills and real-world experience necessary for successful careers in a variety of industries around the world.
