 Brittany Merchant was born and raised in Modesto, California. She graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a BA in Comparative Literature, and competed as a Division-I rower for four years at UCLA. Brittany has had the fortune of being an intern with the Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee (BASOC), the 2009 Senior Games, and the Athletic Development Department at the University of San Francisco. She is on the brink of beginning a three-month Summer Assistant internship with the U.S. Olympic Committee Development Division in Colorado Springs.
