Financial
Analysis Graduate Program
Overview
Financial analysis has evolved from an art to a science in the past three decades. This development has placed strict demands on practitioners to master the complex analytical and quantitative methods increasingly used in financial markets. The University of San Francisco now offers a Master of Science degree in Financial Analysis (MSFA) that provides rigorous training in quantitative finance and economics.
The Professional MSFA is designed to serve the needs of today's busy students. Our executive-style program provides a coordinated, sequential approach to the tools and knowledge deemed necessary for the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA® designation by the CFA Institute). The curriculum is structured over four semesters in courses that meet on Saturdays so that working professionals — who have career commitments and goals in the financial and investment fields — may complete their graduate program in 22 months.
The Accelerated MSFA is designed for applicants that are academically qualified for but do not have relevant work experience in the financial field. Accelerated MSFA courses meet during the week over three consecutive semesters covering 12 months. The curriculum is identical to the Professional MSFA program, with the exception of one course, and many of the same instructors will teach the same courses in both formats of the program.
The Professional and Accelerated programs are offered at USF's main campus in San Francisco.
