Fredel Wiant
Director: Rhetoric and Composition and Associate Professor: Rhetoric and Composition
|
A Colorado native, Professor Wiant earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Public Speaking from the University of Denver, an M.A. in English: The Teaching of Composition from the University of Colorado-Denver, and a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Utah. She has taught on the high school, community college, and university levels. Her research interests include political communication, especially the analysis of campaign issues and language strategies, the speaking/writing connection, and the relationship between language and political power. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English, the Rhetoric Society of America, the National Communication Association, and the Western Speech Communication Association.
