Biography

  Star Plaxton
Assistant Director of Service Learning, Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service & the Common Good

Star Plaxton is the Assistant Director of the Office of Service-Learning and Community Action (OSLCA) within the Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good. She attended George Washington University in Washington D.C. where she received a Masters degree in Elementary Education in 2003 and a Bachelors degree in International Affairs with a concentration in Conflict and Security Issues in 2002. Star has demonstrated a commitment to public service by serving as a youth mentor in Americorps' Jumpstart program and as a legal intern and research assistant at the Federal Trade Commission. Prior to joining the staff at USF, she worked as an elementary school teacher in Falls Church, VA and Victorville, CA.
