Biography

  Saera Khan
Associate Professor: Psychology

Saera Khan is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of San Francisco. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis in 1999. Dr. Khan has taught a broad range of classes including General Psychology, Social Psychology, Stereotyping and Prejudice, and Psychology of Gender. Her research explores how cognitive and motivational factors influence the use of stereotypes when judging others. She is also interested in how people cope with being targets of prejudice and discrimination. Her goal is to gain a comprehensive view of stereotyping by examining the process from the perspective of the perceiver, as well as the target.
