Urbi et Orbi Lecture

Monday November 9, McLaren 250, 12:00pm

In his 2009 social encyclical Caritas in Veritate (Charity in Truth), Pope Benedict XVI reminds us that integral human development requires that "moral evaluation and scientific research...go hand in and, and...charity must animate them in a harmonious interdisciplinary whole." How do social science, theology, metaphysics and science come together in a collaborative effort in the service of humanity at a Jesuit Catholic university? Join Jim Stormes, SJ, Zabala Chair in Catholic Studies and Social Thought, for a lecture and conversation on these and other questions posed by Benedict in the most recent social encyclical focusing on the economy and human development.
