The Economics Department at the University of San Francisco offers students an opportunity to live and learn in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Our faculty are distinguished economists who have gained national and international recognition for their research and scholarship. Small classes and opportunities to participate in faculty research projects are enhanced by our location in San Francisco, the financial capital of the West, where students can visit economic institutions, hear world-renowned speakers in the field, and engage in internships at such sites as the Pacific Stock Exchange or the Federal Reserve Bank.
The General Economics Program gives students a rigorous exposure to the core disciplines: microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. This program is for a student who wants to go on to a career in business or government, or who may pursue an advanced degree such as an M.B.A. or law degree.
The department also offers graduate programs: M.A. in Economics , M.S. in International and Development Economics,
