Financial Aid

USF offers student financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and employment opportunities.

Grants and scholarships can be used to pay for tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies, transportation, and personal expenses. They are awarded to students who demonstrate eligibility by submitting the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA), who are academically outstanding, compete in intercollegiate athletics, and/or are ready to commit their time and skills after graduation to the armed forces or to a particular employer.

Financial Aid Sources

  • the University
  • federal and state governments
  • social, fraternal, professional, and community organizations
  • employers, both present and prospective
  • friends and graduates of the University

Applying For Assistance
To apply for aid you must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1.  The FAFSA may be obtained from your high school, current financial aid office, or may be submitted online after January 1 directly from the FAFSA website at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

Note: Paper FAFSA applications must be mailed to the federal processor - not the USF Office of Financial Aid - on or before February 1.  We recommend that you apply on-line.

** New applicants for admission who seek Financial Aid and who plan to file the FAFSA must be sure that the student's social security number has been provided to the Office of Admission to insure proper matching of the FAFSA application and USF student record.**

Our title IV Code is 001325. This code must be on the FAFSA to assure that we receive your information in a timely way from the processor. Do not wait for an admission decision before submitting your FAFSA.
