The San Francisco Foghorn makes students voices heard. As the only student written and produced weekly news publication at USF, we report the news, opinions and events that impact Dons.
The Foghorn produces a twelve-page weekly print and online newspaper that covers on campus, Bay Area, and world events. Contributing is an invaluable way to get involved on campus and prepare for life after graduation. It emphasizes time management and organization while improving writing skills that uphold professional journalistic practices and ethics.
How Do I Contribute to the Foghorn?
First, decide what section most interests you: sports, scene, news or opinion. Then contact that section editor to let them know you'd like to start writing – you'll be added to their writers list right away. Photographers, artists, and designers are also welcome to contribute.
Many students use their experience at the Foghorn on their resumes and submit stories they've written as writing samples to potential employers. In the past, our staffers have gone on to work for the Bay Guardian, San Francisco Chronicle, and USF News.
