Getting around in the Bay Area is easy!
Muni, the San Francisco Municipal Railway (and bus service), is one of America’s oldest public transit agencies. Muni provides transit service within the city of San Francisco 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Muni operates 80 routes with a very diverse fleet of historic streetcars, modern light rail vehicles, diesel buses, alternative fuel buses, electric trolley coaches, and the world famous cable cars.
BART, Bay Area Rapid Transit, is a massive 75 mile high-speed transit system throughout the entire Bay Area. BART serves 17 communities in the three counties operating 34 stations including service to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK). In San Francisco, BART links with Muni light rail lines at the Market Street stations.

Residents also move around San Francisco with bicycles, cars, and skateboards. Good old-fashion walking is a great way to see the city. The easiest way to figure out how to get from place to place is by using Mapquest or Yahoo! Maps which provide door-to-door directions and a maps.

Another great San Francisco ride share service is City Car Share, a company that allows you to pick up a car within a couple of blocks and rent it for as long as you wish.
