Management Major
Management is the process of assembling and using sets of resources in a goal-directed manner to accomplish tasks in an organizational setting. The management major examines the managerial process as applied in business and other organizations. Special emphasis is given to concepts of management as applied in a dynamic environment of workforce diversity, a global economy, and concern for ethics and social responsibility.
The aim of the management major is to prepare students to work effectively as managers and as members of work groups or teams managed by others. The major is a useful point of departure for continued life-long learning about management and behavior in organizations. The major examines the roles, responsibilities, and skills essential to managerial success.
