USF has a domestic student exchange agreement with Xavier University of Louisiana, a historically black, Roman Catholic college in New Orleans, Louisiana. Xavier University offers a menu of colleges and majors similar to those at USF; its student body and faculty are predominantly African-American. The program is designed to enhance the cultural, intellectual and racial diversity of both USF and Xavier University of Louisiana, as well as to strengthen the learning experiences at both institutions and to more fully prepare participating students for lives and leadership roles in a multicultural world.
The program is open to all USF students with at least sophomore standing and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Student exchanges are held during Spring semester only. Students register for the coursework taken at Xavier University through USF, so the units and grades completed apply fully to their USF degree requirements. Housing and meal plans are available through Xavier University.
Interested students can get more information from Multicultural Recruitment and Retention in the Office of Undergraduate Admission, Lone Mountain 203, x2684.
