The Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB), founded in 1961, has gained national as well as international recognition for its excellence in environmental and toxicology research. Over 230 scientific publications and technical reports have resulted from work conducted by the Institute. Located in Harney Science Center, the ICB is equipped with modern scientific equipment, instruments, and laboratories. The Institute prides itself on providing practical solutions to environmental problems within an academic framework. The ICB is supported by contracts, grants, and gifts from private foundations, industry, and governmental agencies. Ongoing research projects include monitoring of biotic and abiotic resources in polluted environments.
