The Master of Science in Project Management (M.S.P.MGT.) Program prepares individuals for a masters-level competence in the planning and execution of complex projects within a variety of industry and organizational settings. Professionals who complete the program will be capable of assuming leadership roles in the strategic management of complex organizational projects.
Developed for working adults with any level of experience in project management, the M.S.P.MGT. Program offers professional skills and training consistent with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) set forth through the Project Management Institute (PMI). The PMBOK® covers standards in project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, risk, and procurement management. The M.S.P.MGT. Program also incorporates the foundations of organizational behavior such as group dynamics and decision making, communication, networks and virtual teams, organizational change, leadership, and applied research methods.
The M.S.P.MGT. Program is geared toward individuals interested in advancing their knowledge and capabilities in project management. Included are senior executives, program managers, project managers and project team members, members of project management offices, functional managers with employees assigned to project teams, consultants and specialists in project management and related fields, and project management researchers.

Program Objectives
The M.S.P.MGT. is designed to:
- Provide both a strong theoretical and practical curriculum for today's project managers
- Integrate financial, analytical, and organizational knowledge for managing contemporary projects
- Instruct students in the creation and preparation of a culminating project management portfolio that unifies and documents their knowledge
Program Requirements
Students are required to complete 36 semester units towards the Master of Science in Project Management. Students demonstrate their understanding throughout the completion of a Culminating Project. The M.S.P.MGT. curriculum includes all degree requirements.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Master of Science in Project Management, a graduate will have acquired:
- Demonstrate competence in strategically initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing out complex projects.
- Apply their knowledge of successful and collaborative project management including in-house, virtual, and those that include multiple organizations.
- Put into practice the tools, techniques and technologies related to project management.
- Appreciate the contextual and organizational dynamics that facilitate and hinder one's ability to manage projects.
- Marshall and organize project resources in an efficient and effective manner.
- Assess the risks, assumptions and tradeoffs of the project decision-making process.
- Negotiate and administer contracts, including contracts that cut across organizational boundaries.
- Monitor the competence of project team members and guide the improvement of individuals' knowledge, skills and attitudes.
- Manage the change management process, dealing with ongoing and unexpected changes during the life of a project.
- Apply sense-making theory and techniques to link a project to an organization's strategic plan or goals.
- Ensure that project monitoring, evaluation and control are carried out.
