Petition to Enroll at Another Institution (PEAI)

Students enrolled at USF who wish to take courses at another institution must petition the University Evaluator for approval of the transferability of the course work and its USF equivalent.

This online PEAI form may only be used by students in the College of Professional Studies (currently all other students must use the paper form available in the Registrar's Office).

Courses from California community colleges must be CSU transferable (check the school's catalog). A maximum of 70 semester units from community colleges may be applied to your degree from USF.

Courses from other accredited schools must be baccalaureate level (eg. UC Extension courses numbered 1-199 are transferable, courses numbered 200-499 are not).

Guide to the GEC for CPS Students

Public Speaking (3 semester units)
A course in which the student prepares and delivers a number of original speeches before the class.
May be satisfied by:
Public Speaking
Argumentaion
*Intro to Speech
*(If a major portion of the course is public speaking)
Not satisfied by:
Interpersonal Communication
Group Discussion
Theater: Dramatic Voice

Philosophy (3 semester units)
A general introductory philosophy course, or a course on a specific topic in philosophy (except as listed below).
May be satisfied by:
Intro to Philosophy
History of Philosophy
Philosophy of Science
Modern Philosophy

Ethics or Moral Philosophy
Logic or Critical Thinking

Religion (3 lower division & 3 upper division units)
Most religion and theology courses fulfill this requirement.

English: Bible as Literature

World/Western Civilization (3 semester units)
This requirement is met by a course on the history of western civilization, non-western civilization, the world, or civilization/cultures in general.
May be satisfied by:
History of Western Civilization
History of a non-western continent/civilization (eg. Africa, Asia, Latin America, American Indian)
World History
Cultural Anthropology
History of Civilization
Not satisfied by:
US History or the history of an ethnic minority people in the US (except American Indian)

Humanities
Cultural Geography

American Experience (3 semester units)
A course on the history of the United States, a major group of its peoples, or its national government.
May be satisfied by:
American History
Government of the U.S.
African American History
Women in the U.S.

Most natural science courses will satisfy this requirement.
