USF SPONSORED SEMESTER PROGRAMS
USF Sponsored programs parallel the mission and goals of USF. They include programs at other leading overseas universities with which USF has signed agreements. Students pay USF tuition rate to USF, irrespective of specific international program costs. As a result, full course and credit transfer apply to a student’s USF transcript. USF financial aid including USF grants and scholarships as well as federal and state aid (except Federal Work Study) apply as it would any normal semester at USF.
The Center for Global Education strives to develop and establish new USF Sponsored program opportunities for USF students every year. Below is a list of our current Sponsored programs of which are located in over 30 different countries. Learn more about Morocco’s rich cultural, historical, and archaeological legacy by studying with Amideast’s exchange program with various local institutions and programs such as Mohamed V University-Agdal and the Center for Cross-Cultural Learning in Rabat. This unique program is designed to provide learning environments that satisfy academic as well as cross-cultural objectives, and works to meet specialized student needs or interests. Courses include studies in the Arabic, Berber, and French language, Moroccan culture and history, Islamic culture and history, art/architecture/design, and various others in the social sciences and humanities.

POLAND (Krakow)

FRANCE (Paris)
Boston University's Paris Internship Program offers an exciting semester of study and work in the hub of French and European business and culture. The program integrates an internship with intensive French-language study and liberal arts courses at the B.U. Paris Center, which is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. Internship areas include arts, business and economics, health and human services, hospitality management, media studies, journalism, politics and international relations, and pre-law. SCANDINAVIA & EASTERN EUROPE Spring semester only

Córdoba, the second largest city in Argentina, is known for its historical districts, university life, the friendliness of its residents and its proximity to all regions of Argentina. The program is offered at Universidad Católica de Córdoba, a Jesuit university, the oldest private university in the country. Classes are offered in architecture, business and administration, international relations, social sciences, and physical sciences. A special program of courses taught in English at one of the best known Catholic universities in Europe: Catholic University of Leuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven). The program is located at a historical university town and students enroll in courses with students from Belgium and other countries around the world. This program allows USF students to spend a semester taking regular university classes at the Jesuit university in Santiago, Chile. The program is hosted by Universidad Jesuita Alberto Hurtado. The university offers a wide menu of courses and its campus is located in the heart of Chile's capital city. Santiago is located within easy reach of the Andes (for skiing or trekking) and not far from world famous lakes and beaches. The Patagonia region or the northern dessert can be reached through low-cost flights and the same is true of cities in Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. |

Spain (Bilbao) |
Hosted by the Jesuit university, Universidad de Deusto, in Basque northeastern Spain, this semester or academic year program is dedicated to the study or improvement of the Spanish language, including Spain's literature and culture. Bilbao is a trend setting city located close to San Sebastian and the Atlantic coast of France. The city is known for its cultural traditions, gourmet history and friendliness. Students have easy access to the rest of Spain as well as to a number of European cities. |

The Jesuit Universidad Pontificia Comillas (UPC) allows students to study in Madrid--one of the most exciting cities in Europe. The campus is located in the heart of the city and students can take courses in the social and behavioral sciences, the humanities, nursing and the sciences. Applicants enroll in classes with Spanish students and must have completed four semesters of college Spanish. |

EXTERNAL SEMESTER PROGRAMS
External programs include all other study abroad opportunities via other U.S. universities, colleges, or program providers.
Please visit the Center for Global Education for brochure and catalogue material for these options, or if you have already conducted your own research and are interested in a specific accredited external program, please advise the Center, provide your research, and create a file with us regardless.
Bear in mind that for these programs:
USF will NOT award Federal, State, or USF Financial Aid for the period while a student is on Leave of Absence, but some private loan options may by available. We recommend that a student consult a USF Financial Aid counselor for financial considerations and external options. Please refer to the Financial Aid Concerns section of our website for detailed information.
Students pay tuition, housing costs, and all other fees directly to the host institution/program, not to USF.
If students want to receive credit, students should submit a [Study Abroad Interest Form] to the Center for Global Education for proper assistance.
Students are required to complete a Leave of Absence form. Available in UC 404.
Students are required to complete a Petition to Enroll at Another Institution (PEAI) form to assure that credit for course work transfers. Signatures from the following staff will be necessary: study abroad advisor, academic advisor, school Dean, and the University Evaluator. Form is available in UC 404.
These pre-approved course units will transfer towards graduation, but the course names or grades will NOT appear on the student’s USF transcript.
The University of San Francisco does NOT recognize unaccredited study abroad programs or programs offered by unaccredited U.S. schools or agencies. Please contact us to see if a host program is considered accredited.
The University of San Francisco does not approve or support study abroad to any country where a U.S. State Department Travel Warning exists, or where there is a Health Travel Advisory by the Whorld Health Organization or by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
Students are expected to comply with all travel restrictions or sanctions imposed by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the United States Treasury Department.
The Center for Global Education encourages summer or intersession study abroad opportunities for those who cannot do a full semester and/or year program. The following is a list of USF summer & intersession opportunities whereby students will pay USF unit fees and receive USF credit.
