
Here we describe USF classroom technologies and configuration options to provide more information for room requests. Mouse over a thumbnail photo below to see a larger view of that room.
Classroom Technology Levels
- Level 1: Presentation Classroom
These laptop-ready or "plug & play" classrooms provide wired
network access and projection for the presenter. Rooms also
provide wireless Internet access, a DVD/VHS player, speakers with
volume control, a wireless remote, and adjustable lighting.
- Level 1+: Presentation Classroom
These classrooms provide wired network access, a Mac Laptop, and
projection for the presenter. The Mac laptop is configured to
allow booting from Mac OS or Windows XP. Rooms also provide
wireless Internet access, a DVD/VHS player, speakers with volume
control, a wireless remote for presentations, and adjustable
lighting. Cables are also provided for Faculty who prefer to use
their own laptops for presentations.
- Level 2: Multimedia Presentation Classroom
These rooms provide a lectern equipped with a Mac Mini computer
that allows booting from Mac
OS or Windows XP. The room includes a high-end projector, a VCR,
adjustable lighting and controls for source selection and volume
control. (DVD playback is
supported thru the installed computer.) Cables are also provided
for Faculty who prefer to use their own laptops for presentations.
- Level 3: Multimedia Presentation Classroom with Video
These rooms provide at least Level 1 functionality, plus video
recording capability. LM 350 provides audio and video recording
to a DVD burner in the room, and 5 general inventory rooms are now
configured with Echo360 lecture capture that allows recordings to
be streamed over the web.
- Level 4: Collaborative/Demonstration Classroom
These lab-style classrooms provide at least Level 1 functionality,
plus networked desktop or laptop computers for each station in the
classroom.
- Level 5: Distance Delivery Classroom
These video conferencing rooms provide at least Level 1
functionality, plus video conferencing capabilities.
