Scholarship Testimonials

"When I enrolled at USF, I had just purchased a home and was preparing to marry to my fiancee. While I knew that pursuing a degree was the right thing for me to do, I had concerns about how I would pay for it in the short run. The advisors at USF were invaluable in showing me various student loan programs, and other sources of money for education. I was very surprised at the number of scholarships available to returning students."

"I would like to sincerely thank the USF staff and alumni for my generous scholarship. I am a single mother who works full-time, and when I applied for USF I was a bit intimidated by the thought of student loans. I was determined to obtain my degree, so I moved forward with my application. I applied for a USF scholarship and the Cal-Grant with hopes of obtaining a small amount of assistance for school costs. Because my grade point average was not as high as it should have been, I was not confident that I would receive any scholarships. I was also concerned that I made too much money to qualify for any need-based assistance. Much to my delight, I was chosen to receive a substantial alumni scholarship! The money has greatly assisted in paying for my school costs. I am so glad that the staff here at USF encouraged me to apply. I am thrilled to say that I love my classes and I am having a wonderful time here at USF. Thanks for the opportunities!"

"At first I was skeptical as to whether I could receive an award since I work full-time. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was a scholarship recipient. I'm so happy I took the time to apply for the USF scholarship. The application process was easy and I received a fantastic award that helped pay for some of my tuition."

"Attending the University of San Francisco and achieving a life-long goal to receive my Bachelor's of Art Degree is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I am an exemplary example to my children and family. I applied for and received a scholarship, which alleviated the cost of attending the University. I would encourage and recommend to anyone considering attending the University of San Francisco to apply for a scholarship, the process was virtually effortless and the reward was beneficial. I have truly received a valuable education and grown personally as an individual. The University of San Francisco is an excellent place to start your educational adventure."

"I was hopeful that I would qualify for a scholarship, although I had doubts that I would be awarded one. I was convinced that many would apply ahead of me, or would be more qualified. Nonetheless, I submitted an essay for the merit scholarship. It wasn't difficult to write about my passion regarding my prior experience at USF and how I believed that I was prepared to synthesize my bachelor's program and work experience into a meaningful progression toward the master's program. To my delight, I was awarded the scholarship! As a working adult student, I was very pleased that I had an opportunity to supplement the cost of the program and that I had taken the time to pursue an opportunity for assistance. That was an eye opener. I am so glad that I took the risk despite the seeming odds."
