Ana joined the University of San Francisco September 2011. While at the University of San Francisco, Ana will lead the forecasting and modeling of the budget process, oversee the Center for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness (CIPE), coordinate the planning process, monitor the financial performance of the University’s various office and programs, and leverage the capabilities of Business Intelligence to support informed decisions on the part of the University’s administration.
Biography
Ana received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and studied advanced statistical methods at Harvard and Princeton universities. In May 2005, Dr. Karaman joined the Political Science Department at Samford University and shortly thereafter was asked to join the administration at Samford, first as Director of Center for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness and most recently as Associate Vice President for Decision Support and Financial Strategy. In her last role, Ana coordinated the university-wide long-term financial planning process; developed the annual budget; provided impact analyses of possible changes in enrollment, tuition, fund raising and capital investments; and led financial evaluation of the university’s programs.
