As the 49ers prepare to take on the Ravens in the NFL's Super Bowl in New Orleans on Feb. 3, football fans can thank the University of San Francisco's Pete Roselle '50 for inventing the big game.

Roselle, who was sports information director at USF when the university's football team went unbeaten and untied in 1951, later combined the NFL and AFL and established a playoff game between them—the Super Bowl.

Listen to Roselle talk about his journey from USF to the NFL, as well as the spectacle of the big game.
