About Me:
Born Cleveland, OH, raised Philadelphia, PA.
Associate of Arts, Art History, American College (now University) in Paris
(1969); Bachelor of Arts, Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, San
Francisco State University (1976); Certificate in Library Technology,
City College of San Francisco (1978); and Masters in Library and
Information Studies, University of California, Berkeley (1983).
Work:
Mechanics’ Institute Library,
downtown San Francisco, Library Assistant, 1979-83. USF Gleeson
Library/Geschke Center, temporary Periodicals Department Head, 1983-84;
Gifts & Exchange Librarian and Reference Librarian, 1984; Reference
Librarian, 1984- present; Coordinator of Off-Campus Services,
1989-2000; Head of Distance Learning Services and Branch Libraries, 2000 to present.
My primary responsibility is to oversee the library operations at USF’s branch campuses
in Pleasanton, Sacramento, San Jose, and Santa Rosa; and the
department’s Document Delivery service. Each summer I meet with the new
Sport Management cohort in Orange, CA. In addition to my Visual &
Performing Arts liaison duties, I continue to work in the Reference
& Research Services Department and am also responsible for the
wayfinding and signage in Gleeson/Geschke. I enjoy contributing to the
“library as place”.
Professional Interests:
CARL (the California Academic Libraries & Research Association and California chapter of the American Library Association division, Association of College and Research Libraries). I’m also active with the AJCU Conferences of Deans of Adult & Continuing Education and Information Technology Management. Favorite web 2.0 tool: wikis.
