ABI/Inform Complete:
Includes citations and summaries and full text from about 1000 business periodicals that contain company and industry information, as well as products, services and notable people. Useful for hospitality news and trends, industry and company information, some industry and company reports.
Business Source Premier: Offers full-text articles for more than 2150 titles including the Harvard Business Review. Also provides country reports, company profiles, industry reports, market research reports, and SWOT analyses. Useful for hospitality news and trends, industry and company information, some industry and company reports.
EIU: Contains current country economic profiles, including economic reports and current economic events for nearly 200 countries or economic territories. Generally covers 5-7 years. Great for looking at conditions for business and hospitality worldwide.
Europa World Online: Online version of the Europa World Year Book, which the library has in print back to 1991. Includes economic, political and geographic background information and statistical data by country; thousands of directory contact details with click-through web links and a comprehensive listing of some 1,700 international organizations. Great for looking at conditions for business and hospitality worldwide.
Gale Virtual Reference Library: Online collection of reference books, including dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other reference sources.
IBISWorld: Great, comprehensive information on over 700 US Industries in the US economy. Each Industry Report is some 35-50 pages in length with abridged, 6-page Executive Summaries also available. Excellent industry reports on bed and breakfasts, travel services, lodging, food and beverages, event planning, and more!
LexisNexis Academic:
Use Search the News section for business news from national and international sources. Use the Get Company Info section for company data.
Net Advantage:
Includes research, data, and commentary on companies, industries, stocks, bonds, and funds, from popular Standard & Poor’s research products such as Industry Surveys, Stock Reports, Corporation Records, The Register of Corporations, Directors and Executives, The Outlook, and Mutual Fund Reports among others. Great for public hospitality company information, and US industry reports on lodging and gaming, foods and beverages, restaurants, transportation, and more!

Passport GMID: Global Market Information Database:
Excellent for country, industry, and consumer statistics and market research. Search consumer leisure and lifestyles, attitudes, and other information, as well as industry surveys and statistics. US and worldwide data and information.
ReferenceUSA:
A directory of US businesses. Can be searched by business size, location, industry, etc. Also useful for determining if a business is public or private or finding company affiliations.
TableBase:
Used for finding statistical information, including market share from journals and reports on companies, industries, products, countries and markets. Useful for all hospitality topics, US and worldwide.
WRDS: Wharton Research Data Services:
The USF School of Management subscribes to three databases in WRDS: COMPUSTAT, CRSP, and OptionMetrics.
OptionMetrics: OptionMetrics' IvyDB is a comprehensive source of historical price and implied volatility data for the US equity and index options markets.
COMPUSTAT: (from Standard & Poor's) provides more than 300 annual and 100 quarterly Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, and supplemental data items on more than 24,000 publicly held companies. The COMPUSTAT databases on WRDS include Industrial, Full Coverage, Research; Prices, Dividends & Earnings; Segments; Bank; Canadian; Global Vantage; and EXECUCOMP. EXECUCOMP offers executive compensation data in addition to detailed breakouts of compensation data under the pre-2006 reporting rules for those who are researching historical compensation trends.
CRSP: The Center for Research in Security Prices maintains the most comprehensive collection of security price,return, and volume data for the NYSE, AMEX and NADSAQ stock markets. Additional CRSP files provide stock indices, beta- and cap-based portfolio, treasury bond and risk-free rates, and mutual fund databases. CRSP also provides CRSP/COMPUSTAT Merged Database, a database that simplifies matching COMPUSTAT financial data to the CRSP security price data.

Finding Hospitality Journals, Magazines, and Newspapers (Periodicals):
Click on the Journals button on the library home page to get to Journal Finder. Use Journal Finder to see if we have a particular periodical (for example, Nation's Restaurant News, or Global Hotels and Motels) or type in a keyword like hotel, event, beverage, etc. to see all periodicals that contain that word in the title, or start with that word. Click on the title of the journals you find to see where you can get the articles from each one online or in print.
