For One Week materials: $1 per day.

Charges for lost or damaged materials are based on the current average book cost to the library plus a processing fee and all overdue fines which have accrued. Processing fees and overdue fines are nonrefundable. Book cost fees are nonrefundable once the order / replacement process has begun.

A borrower is not exempt from any overdue or replacement charges because of failure to receive a notice from the library.

Electronic Reserves

Access the electronic reserves readings by clicking on the "View or Print" title you are interested in. Enter your USFconnect username and password if prompted. All readings are in PDF format, requiring Adobe Reader (free download) to view them.
Macintosh users: be sure to open readings in Adobe Reader rather than the "Preview" application which is the default viewer in Mac OS X.

Hint: electronic reserves fast access: From the Library's home page, go to "View Your Library Record," enter your USFconnect username and password. From your library record, click on "Search the Catalog." Here you can access your course's reserves page by "Instructor" or "Course." Now you can open all the electronic reserves readings without having to enter your USFconnect login each time.

Indicate the loan periods for each item. Because demand for materials can fluctuate, we reserve the right to adjust assigned loan periods to accommodate the needs of students.

Submit book purchase requests to the Circulation/Reserves Librarian 6 to 8 weeks before the semester begins. The library does not purchase textbooks required for courses at USF. Faculty may place personal copies of textbooks on temporary reserve for their students. The addition of introductory textbooks not required for courses is determined by the Acquisitions Librarian or Head of Collection Development.

A minimum of three days is required to process physical materials.

At the end of each semester, course material is removed and course web pages are deactivated. Personal material must be picked up by the end of the semester. All other material is returned to the library stacks. To activate a course for the next successive semester, fill out a new Reserves Request Form.

Please remind your students that University Library policy requires that they present a valid USF I.D. to check out Reserves material.
