Document Delivery IconDocument Delivery is a library service for USF Faculty and Graduate Students providing electronic delivery of a wide variety of Gleeson Library materials.

What kinds of materials can be requested?

Document Delivery can provide the following material:

  • Book chapters
  • Articles in Gleeson print or online database collections
  • Microfilm/Microfiche articles

Who is eligible to use Document Delivery?

All University of San Francisco faculty and Graduate Students are eligible. Document Delivery requests must be made via ILLiad.   Proceed here to set up a new ILLiad account.  

How do I request material via Document Delivery?

Go to your ILLiad account and select the appropriate Request Form.

  • Document: A photocopy, such as a journal, newspaper, microfilm, microfiche, magazine article, or conference paper.
  • Book Chapter: A copy of a chapter from a book or anthology.

After you have submitted the request, we will notify you by e-mail when your request is filled.

Delivery Time to fill a request

Articles delivered electronically within (3) three business days of request.

Books and other items will be placed on the Access Services hold shelf for pick up. Only Hilltop faculty can request to have books delivered to you by e-mailing access_services@usfca.edu

How long can items be used?

Articles: Requested articles will be delivered to your ILLiad mailbox. An e-mail notice will link to a copy of the article in PDF format.  To view your requested article, go to your ILLiad account and select Electronically Received Articles in the View Menu.  Articles remain available within ILLiad for one month and should be downloaded within 30 days.

Loans: Books and other materials will be placed on the Access Services hold shelf for ten days. Lending periods for books from the Gleeson Collection are the same as books checked out in person at the Access Services desk. View faculty borrowing privileges.

Check the status of a request

Go to your ILLiad account and select Outstanding Requests in the View Menu. To view more detailed information, click on the transaction number next to your request.

Cancel a request

Go to your ILLiad account and select Outstanding Requests in the View Menu. Click on the transaction number next to the request you would like to cancel. Click on Cancel Request.

Canceled requests

Gleeson Library will cancel a request if the item is unavailable. Unfilled requests are often routed to Interlibrary Loan.
