Giving to the Library

We welcome and appreciate your gift to the Library.

Rare Book Room Exhibition

Current Priorities

The Library is currently seeking support for a renovation of the Donohue Rare Book Room which will bring much needed improvements to the room by enhancing the security and environmental conditions of the collection. Chief among the planned improvements is the installation of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) in the rare book storage vault which will allow the Library to maintain desired environmental conditions assuring the long-term preservation of its collections of rare and unique materials.

The Donohue Rare Book Room , comprised of over 17,000 volumes and manuscripts, welcomes nearly 2,000 visitors a year. The Rare Book Room plays an important role in the teaching mission of the University and is a valuable resource for students, faculty, researchers, alumni and the Bay Area book community.
